Breakout Artist d4vd Brings Smash Hits to Toronto

by Peyton Mott

The TikTok breakout artist, d4vd, made a stop in Toronto for his My House Is Not Home tour. As the house lights dimmed and the band made its way on stage with flashing LEDs onstage, there was a sense of a heartbeat pulsing from the heated crowd. The “Romantic Homicide” singer made his appearance, bursting onto the stage matching the intense energy of his song, “Take Me To The Sun.” Complete with bouncing feet and a backflip, the energy d4vd brings to the room is infectious.

While he’s been out on the road for almost 8 months – between songs, d4vd extended an apology for not returning to the Canadian city in a year. Nothing could compare to the cheers of the crowd in response to his return to the stage at Danforth Music Hall.

The audience was far from removed from the artist himself as he continuously interacted with die-hard fans, flashing a toothy grin at every pause in the set. It is clear d4vd doesn’t take his dream career lightly and is eternally grateful to the fans who came out to the almost sold-out show. With a mix of rock-fueled ballads and energetic tracks leaving the balcony bouncing, it’s clear d4vd has an infectious stage presence as an artist reaching worldwide success and deserved recognition.

The rock adjacent artist closed out the set via encore with “Romantic Homicide”. The crowd held tight together in the smoky room to the heartbreaking hit. As the house lights came up there was an evident reluctance from the fans to leave the venue and reminisce on the musicality d4vd brought to life.
