Fresh off of a headline tour following the release of their debut album Best & Worst of Times, Secondhand Sound have released their latest track titled Colm’s Conquest. Lead vocalist and guitarist Sawyer John Estok delivers lyrical talent and vocals that feel nostalgic, hopeful, and sometimes even dreamy. “What’s interesting about this song is that it’s a rare example of a Secondhand Sound song that didn’t originate on my acoustic guitar," says Estok about Colm’s Conquest. “Usually, I sit and pine over a song, specifically lyrics, for months. This one came really fast and that was refreshing.” The track title comes originally from a potential side project by Estok and the band's guitarist and keyboardist Cam Schmidt. Produced by Matt Martin, the track precedes their upcoming new EP, set to release in the summertime.

Secondhand Sound delivers indie with a punch of alternative rock in their records. They offer nostalgic, fuzzy, and sometimes even gut wrenching records. Their sound is youthful, but still carries edge and weight to it. Secondhand Sound releases the kind of music you want backtracking all your indie movie moments, and Colm’s Conquest is no exception. The boys even say this themselves on Spotify: “We are the band you put on when you’re going in for the kiss” The band often tags themself with “Secondhand Sound will be the biggest band in the world” and I truly believe that this is in reach for them. Secondhand Sound offers a refreshing and unique sound onto the scene. Not only do they release unique music, but also pair their songs with eye-catching and interesting visuals. “The Stranger”, as shown with the band above, is the band's elusive mascot that represents the overall vibe and aesthetic of the band, which I absolutely love. It is always incredibly refreshing to see a band take their music to the next level and offer both visual and auditory elements for their listeners to take in.

Being a long time listener of Secondhand Sound, it’s amazing to see how the band has grown since their EP Burnout, released in 2020, that originally got me into the band. Estok’s lyrical talent has once again delivered on this track; taking us into a whole other world. Colm’s Conquest offers a familiar but also fresh sound for the band, and we can expect their upcoming EP to soundtrack us through the summertime. When it comes to the sound of summer, there is no doubt that you want some Secondhand Sound on your playlists.

Secondhand Sound will be on tour this summer with Savannah Conley & BETCHA. You can grab tickets here, and Colm’s Conquest is available for streaming now. Secondhand Sound will be the biggest band in the world.
