Tucker Pillsbury, better known as ROLE MODEL, or to some of his fans as Sabrina Carpenter/ Inhaler/ Jacob Elordi, has been taking over not just Spotify, and TikTok, but truly the world as well. Last year the Maine native put out his sophomore album Kansas Anymore and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better he put out the deluxe, Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye) just a few short weeks ago. Now Saint Laurent Cowboy- eh I mean ROLE MODEL- has hiked up his boots and hit the road for his No Place Like Home Tour.
While on tour he began teasing snippets of his song “Sally When The Wine Runs Out”, better known as the song of the summer (yes I’m aware that it’s only March but I call it like I see it). Since then the song has blown up and ROLE MODEL is leaning into it.
Allow me to take you back to a simple time in life, that’s right we're going back to the era from 2010-2012 when bieber fever was sweeping the nation. Justin Bieber did both his My World Tour and his Believe Tour where girls flocked in hopes to be the one less lonely girl. If you are unfamiliar with this, let me explain. As a part of his set, Justin Bieber would sing his hit song “One Less Lonely Girl” and bring one lucky fan on stage and serenade her. Easily one of the top 10 pop culture moments of the 2010’s.
Fast forward to 2025 and well, welcome back one less lonely girl. ROLE MODEL has begun bringing fans on stage for “Sally When The Wine Runs Out” to sing, dance and diva out with him, aka be Sally. Sally’s have ranged anywhere from fans who have camped out outside venues, to a sweet young birthday boy named Finn, to TikTok king Jake Shane. The energy of that moment is absolutely electric and so fun for not just the chosen Sally but for everyone in the venue. Whether you’re chosen to come on stage or not, one thing is certain ROLE MODEL is raising an army of divas and I’m so here for it.
While this may only last for a few minutes the pop cultural impact lasts far longer. Fans are connecting to artists in ways we haven’t seen before, artists are treating them as friends, making them truly feel a part of their journey. ROLE MODEL being one of the greatest examples of that. Not only through his playful Sally performance but through his social media presence as well, showing that at the end of the day he’s just a Brandy Melville wearing feminist who believes in community.
